you want some.

Yesterday I made brownies. I used Alton Brown’s Cocoa Brownies recipe, though I cheated because I used all white sugar (I was out of brown and I didn’t know it – and I had already cracked my eggs! Once the eggs are cracked, you’re not going out to the store). I used slightly less than two cups of sugar too, so they’re not super sweet, but pretty fudgy. I added macadamia nuts and chocolate chips to my batter as well. It’s hard to not just eat the whole pan, but I’m being good. If you see me in the next few days, maybe I will bring you some! Brownies, anyone?

swapping

Have you tried swap-bot? I don’t know about you, but I like doing swaps. I like getting cool things in the mail. They’ve also improved their system a bit over at the swap-bot. You can give your partners a rating so if bad swappers are present and try to sign up for new swaps, hosts can ban them from a swap, which is good if you ask me. Plus, the ratings are never permanent. If your partner eventually does make it up to you, you can go in and change the rating again. Right now I’m doing some postcard swaps (I love me some postcards) and this “What’s in your purse” swap where you sent five purse-worthy items. I actually have my own rubber stamp group but I haven’t been into doing cards lately for whatever reason. My crafty streak is on hold or something.

Across the street my neighbors and their friends are having a dance practice in their garage. This is some pure entertainment right here. Better than TV. Though I think the music could stand to be improved. Ohh, now they’re singing. How awesome.

My puppy is a year old today! How time flies.

I’ll sum up the weekend: drinking, eating, firefly, and friends.

Also, everyone should try weird treats at the asian market. For example, I had green tea ice cream today. It does taste like tea, but really cold and solid. I bet you could have guessed that all by yourself.

I had a half day last Friday and half day today (plus company picnic). I feel spoiled. Every Friday should be a half day.

What have I been doing? I can’t remember. Mostly working. July was so busy and now I’m glad I can actually just sit around on my ass and watch TV for once. I visited Alyssa at the end of July. The good thing about going to visit her is that I know we will totally go out and eat tasty things, which we did. And when I feel less lazy I will write about one of them because I had some damn good pancakes. We also went to the LA Library and saw Draco and the Malfoys play with Harry and the Potters. It was kind of sucky though because we couldn’t understand anything they were saying. Everything sounded really echo-y. Draco was really amusing and we left during Harry just because we couldn’t hear and then everyone was dancing around the stage so then I couldn’t see either. Damn it. Maybe they’ll tour again next summer after Book 7 comes out! I’m such a geek.
