spamming by mail

I got my first piece of spam by mail the other day. It had no postmark, the stamps really are from South Africa, and it had a real signature on it. It was basically one of those Nigera emails where some high ranking official dies and the son writes to you in confidience for your help to move the money to an American bank where you will profit with millions of dollars just for being nice and helping them out. har har.

Don’t these people have something better to do than to send me spam by mail? Apparently not. At least I got some neat looking postage stamps from it.

I’ve been enterting a puppy photography contest and the photo I sent in last month didn’t win, but it did get an honorable mention! I’ll just have to keep trying to take better photos! And remembering to bring the camera with me.

PS – When you’re on that site, be sure to check out the ewok dog.

part time

A couple weeks ago I got a part time job working for San Diego Wedding Insider. I basically keep it up to date with content. I think it’s the coolest. Plus, it’s helped to keep me busy, which I was lacking before. It’s nice to be busy and to always be thinking up new ideas. And with all the weddings I’ve been going to lately (got another one in April!) I’ve gotten some good ideas from them. Yay for work!

Today I got my leftover craft items swap from Stephanie of Robot Pop. Stephanie sent me a variety of goodies, including: fabric, stickers, foam rubber stamps, collage paper, envelopes, beads, buttons, wood stars, photo corners, glitter glue and more! Totally awesome. I’m sure I’ll put the items to good use on my future projects! Thanks, Stephanie!

yesterday we decided it’d be fun to take maya up to the mountains to see some snow. she loved it. she thought the snow was quite tasty.

i also made some tasty cupcakes. instead of making real frosting, i just used some cool whip and topped it off with blackberries. i thought it was quite tasty. though, i think i still like real frosting better.

[stuff]

Last Saturday at the dog park, the San Diego Beagle Brigade was there, taking up the park. Maya was not excited about this. A few dogs jumped on me and tried to get to her and she snarled at them. Rude puppies! She didn’t open up and play til later after the beagles were all gone. She played with a little dog name Auggie who is probably her long lost twin. Lookie!

Today I concocted a little pasta recipe that took like, 15 minutes to make. It was damn tasty, I must say. I’m not too big on tomato sauces, but this one does have tomato in it, but a fresh one. It’s not too heavy of a sauce, just right to me. I’m a little bit of a picky eater, I guess.

Hamburger Pasta Thing

  • spaghetti (enough for about 2 servings)
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 tomato
  • garlic clove
  • italian seasoning
  • red pepper flakes
  • 1 hamburger patty
  • olive oil
  • parmesan cheese

Cook spaghetti (undercook slightly by about a minute). Use food processor to chop up the onion, tomato and garlic clove. Cook hamburger patty and break it up into pieces as its cooking. Add onion, tomato, garlic, red pepper flakes, and italian seasonings. Cook a few minutes and then simmer. When the pasta is done, drain and add to the sauce. Toss and cook about a minute. Add parmesan cheese and a little olive oil. Makes about 2 servings, unless you’re really hungry. Yum.
