RIP
LEOMINSTER — Jeanne J. (Cormier) Desjean, 79, of 200 Atlantic Ave., died Tuesday, April 17, in the Highlands after an illness.
She was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Fitchburg, daughter of the late Patrice and Bernadette (LeBlanc) Cormier. Mrs. Desjean was a member of Jeanne D’Arc, Daughters of Isabella, Ladies of Saint Anne at Saint Joseph Parish, Our Lady of the Lake Women’s Guild, Saint Francis Senior Center, and the Fitchburg Senior Center. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, cards, puzzles and baking.
Mrs. Desjean was predeceased by her brother, Emile Cormier, and her sisters, Rita Poisson and Lorraine Desjean.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Raymond E. Desjean; six children, Thomas R. Desjean of Fitchburg, Steven R. Desjean and his wife, Annette, of Baldwinville, Russell L. Desjean and his wife, Nenita, of San Diego, Calif., David Desjean of Fitchburg, Patricia J. Howe and her husband, Robert, of Fitchburg, and Joyce E. Houle and her husband, Kevin, of Baldwinville; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Collazo, Mary Desjean, Keith Desjean, Alicia Howe, Ashleigh Bain, Theodore Howe, Jordan Bain, Chad Desjean and Tyler Desjean; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Collazo; two brothers, Clarence Cormier and his wife, Louise, and Donald Cormier and his wife, Suzie; two sisters, Pauline Strout and her husband, David, and Claire Powers and her husband Alan; her best friends “The Old Gang,†Lorraine Couture, Irene White, Terry Bernard and Anne Rufiange; many close nieces and nephews.
DESJEAN — The memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 20, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg is directing arrangements.

My grandmother was a beautiful, kind and very loving woman. She didn’t have a harsh word for anyone and excepted everyone and everything. She was the first person I ever played Scrabble with. I can’t imagine her not being around anymore. I will always remember you, Memere. I miss you and love you.

I’m so sorry Mare Mare, There is nothing in this world more precious than life. The things you’ve shared will live on in you and in your children, Every memory a spark of life in a sea of chaos. RIP Rudolpho and Alfred.

I’ll start off by saying I suck at grieving. That said, something you will value as time passes, is your memory of her. She’s nearly unchangeable at this point, except as memory fades. If you want to try something, do a recording of what you want to treasure. Maybe have a friend do an interview of you, about her. Sorry for your loss.
