g-ball jackpot

Last night my mom convinced me to go to Sycuan Casino. She’s been on some kind of itch lately, always wanting to go to the casino. I told her, “why don’t you just use that money you’d spend at the casino and buy me some clothes instead?” She said, “You have a lot of clothes already!” and I said, “Well, it’d be better than you throwing your money away at the casino!” She was not convinced, obviously.

My stipulation for going to the casino is that I get to play bingo. The early matinees were already over, so we left later in the day and I went to the evening session. I haven’t ever played bingo at Sycuan by myself. But, since it was also the month of my birthday, I got a free birthday pack and I didn’t mind being their alone, though I did call Alyssa and leave a message asking her to come. Anyway, on a whim, I decided to play the G-Ball Jackpot, which I usually never do. You have to bingo on the specified number of draws (which was 56 last night – a pretty good amount, I thought). And … holy crap, I totally won it. I was just excited that I had won, as I have never won at Sycuan before (besides winning the door prizes – $100 two times and a gigantic stuffed bunny) but the gasps of the other players made me realize that, oh man, I had bingoed on the right number as well! I got a little high buzz from the experience and a bulging wallet. The jackpot was for $2000. I even had to sign a bunch of forms which was basically like, “I promise to tell the IRS and blahblahblah.” Stupid government. But anyway. What a nice little birthday present for myself! Yay! The end.
