My first attempt earlier this week turned out quite badly. The crust wasn&#8217;t good, the apples weren&#8217;t cooked enough and it had a funny flavor. We ended up throwing it away. Later, I made a coconut cream pie. The coconut cream pie filling turned out well but the crust was not good &#8211; it was too hard and crappy. I think maybe I overworked my dough. So I tried again tonight. I did my best to not overwork it this time and I made a pretty lattice on top. I haven&#8217;t tried a piece yet since it&#8217;s still cooling down, but it looks better already!
