This weekend I made a lasagna. It wasn&#8217;t that I was craving it, but that we had a whole unopened tub of ricotta in the fridge that had been sitting around and it started to speak to me. It said, &#8220;Damn, why haven&#8217;t you used me yet? I am delicious.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/theplainjane.com\/crafty\/images\/lasgna.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>We didn&#8217;t have any sauce so I made my own with some totato sauce, tomato paste, dried oregano from our garden, fresh basil, onions and a bunch of garlic (along with some ground beef). Whipped up a cheesy mixture with the ricotta and other various cheeses we had on hand (no mozzarella but lots of parmesan reggiano), an egg and a little milk (and always salt and pepper). Layer it all up &#8211; you know the rest, don&#8217;t you? Lasagna is easy, its just time consuming. But worth the effort! Maya even got a little sampling.
