"Here Jane. I brought you some ham to make sandwiches with."

Jane thanked her friend and then decided that she wanted to have a ham sandwich, but she didn't have any bread.

So Jane set out for the local market to get some bread.

She got to the market and asked the shopkeeper for some bread.

"I'm sorry Jane, but we're all out of bread today."

Forlorn, Jane went onto the next store on the other side of town.

"We have some day old banana bread," said the clerk. Jane shook her head and decided to go to the bakery.

"I'm sorry Jane, we just sold our last loaf of the day."

Jane was sad and walked back home.

"I really wanted a ham sandwich today. I guess I'll just make a ham omelet."

And so Jane had an omelet, and life was good.
